Corrosive Comics was founded in 2008, by Shawn Cruz (formerly of Curb-Job Comics in Modesto, CA). Shawn began working on the first Corrosive Comics title, Psycho Guitar Killers, after being approached by Normandy Guitars to create a comic book series based on their guitars. Issue #1 was released in December 2008. Issue #1 was written by Shawn Cruz and Jim Normandy (CEO Normandy Guitars) and all artwork was completed by Cruz. More issues to the series are in production. In 2009, Micah Baker joined Corrosive Comics to be the official color artist for Psycho Guitar Killers. In late 2009, he pitched the idea of a comic book series surrounding the all girl roller derby league “The Cherry City Derby Girls” of Salem, OR. The book was approved and titled Cherry City Derby Girls: The Comic Book. The series is written/illustrated completely by Micah Baker. Soon, Sean Hollenhors contacted Corrosive Comics looking to join the studio as an artist writer. Impressed by his work, Cruz, and Baker welcomed Sean aboard. P.U.N.K.E., illustrated by Sean Hollenhors, will be the first self-published title from Corrosive Comics Studio. Corrosive Comics Studio artists/writers are: |

Corrosive Comics Studio is located in Salem, OR. Corrosive is an independent studio, made up of artists/writers that crave making comic books outside of conventional content and style. They are Shawn Cruz, Micah Baker, and Sean Hollenhors. (Click each name to learn more about our staff) Currently, Corrosive Comics is producing three titles, all of which are either self published, or published with a partner from Salem.
